MSU School Psychology Program earns prestigious 10-year APA reaccreditation

STARKVILLE, Miss.51勛圖厙 States School Psychology Program has reached a significant milestone, earning a 10-year reaccreditation from the American Psychological Association.
Housed in the College of Educations Department of Counseling, Higher Education Leadership, Educational Psychology, and Foundations, school psychology is MSUs longest standing, accredited psychology program. Widely regarded as the gold standard in the field, the recognition underscores the programs unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovative research and impactful community service.
This milestone reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff and students who strive daily to advance the science and practice of school psychology, said Kayla Bates-Brantley, assistant professor and program director. The 10-year reaccreditation affirms that we are equipping our graduates with the highest level of preparation to meet the needs of children, families and schools.
Offering both the educational specialist and doctoral degree, the program boasts a 100% match rate for internships at APA-accredited sites for the last decade. Its prestigious match sites include the Johns Hopkins School ofMedicine-Kennedy Krieger Institute; University of Nebraska Medical Center-Munroe-Meyer Institute; and the May Institute.
APAs rigorous accreditation process evaluates programs on multiple criteria, including faculty expertise, research contributions, curriculum design and professional success of graduates. A 10-year accreditationthe maximum term grantedsignifies a programs outstanding quality and adherence to the highest standards of training and education.
This 10-year reaccreditation, in addition to a 100% match rate for internships at APA-accredited sites over the past decade, highlights the exceptional quality and dedication of our faculty, students and staff, said Daniel Gadke, College of Education associate dean of research, professor and department head.
